Psychological aspects of work

Fire rescuers are trained in ways to provide psychological support to victims and colleagues in extreme emergencies.

Psychological training classes form the skills of rapid recovery with the help of self-regulation, which contributes to improving the efficiency of a firefighter. Autogenic training relieves fatigue and pain, mobilizes the physical and mental capabilities of the body.

Firefighters master the management of their own mental state, and study methods of influencing others in emergency situations. Methods of preventing and suppressing collective panic are analyzed on specific examples.

Psychological training of firefighters uses methods of artificial modeling of emergencies. Practical classes include testing, team-building training, and role-playing games that develop the skills of providing first psychological assistance to victims.

Responsibilities

The work of firefighters is connected not only with extinguishing sources of ignition but also with saving people and risking their own lives. Therefore, this type of activity not only deserves comprehensive respect, proper awarding, and awarding, but also a carefully developed system for performing and monitoring official duties.

The coherence of the team, when collecting an alarm signal, affects the speed of departure of the guard. Working out the sequence of actions with fire extinguishing equipment (fire hoses, ladders, rescue equipment, pumping equipment of the fire extinguishing system, first aid to the victims) is necessary for localization and early extinguishing of fires.

If the fire has engulfed everything around, it is almost impossible to get out of it without professional help. That is why firefighters have recently been called rescuers. Upon arrival at the place of fire, the primary task is to evacuate the people remaining in the building, and only then the immediate elimination of the fire.

The unit commander needs to correctly assess the complexity of the situation, choose the right extinguishing tactics and attract the necessary equipment in a timely manner. Each fire requires a separate strategy, the efficiency of which depends on the cohesion and professionalism of the team, a clear understanding of their responsibilities, and the need for actions to be performed.

The range of duties of fire brigades is very wide. It includes:

  • evacuation of people;
  • providing primary medical care to victims;
  • elimination of fire sources;
  • elimination of the consequences of fire and much more.

Conclusion

The profession of a firefighter will always be relevant. Although technical capabilities for extinguishing fires are being improved, and scientists are developing robots and automated systems for solving dangerous tasks, it is impossible to replace an experienced firefighter who controls equipment, reduces panic, and provides first aid to victims, and undoubtedly this is heroic and respectable work.
