Interactive Pages

JavaScript was invented to make web pages interactive. HTML and CSS both define how a web page looks. But with just these two language, users cannot change the page or enter data to the computer. With JavaScript, users can run full computer programs starting from the web page. This works because all major web browsers support JavaScript and give JavaScript access to system resources on the computer where the browser runs. We'll start our JavaScript journey by adding a simple popup from the web page showing the date and time it was accessed.
