For this assignment, you will answer questions about Chapter 10.

Read Chapter 10: Stress, Social Inequality, and Race and Ethnicity in the textbook.

STEP 2: Write your Answers

1. What makes stress a more chronic rather than episodic issue for humans compared with other animals?
2. How is social life itself a stressor for humans?
3. What are at least two negative health consequences of chronic stress named in the chapter that stood out to you?
4. Based on what you read in the chapter, what can help mitigate these negative health consequences of chronic stress?
5. What stands out to you about how social inequality affects health? 
6. What factors might explain the higher rates of hypertension among Black Americans?
7. Optional: Feel free to comment on anything else you thought was interesting from the assigned reading.
