Access Your Notification Settings

From anywhere in Canvas you can access your notification preferences by clicking on your account icon and then the link for notifications.

Knowing the Correct Settings

You should check the settings within each column to make sure that Canvas is sending you notifications in the way that works best for you. If you've added an additional notification address or made changes that you want to undo, you may want to check the default settings. Making changes to your settings

On the left of the screen is listed out items that you can set up notifications. They are Course activities, due date, grading policies, course content, files, announcement, grading and etc. You can use have notifications sent to your emails or mobile phone. Notification options are 1. By selecting the Checkmark icon, you will be immediately notified of any change for the activity (ASAP). 2. By selecting the Clock icon, you will be notified daily of any change for the activity. 3. By selecting the Calendar icon, you will be notified weekly of any change for the activity. 4. By selecting the X icon, you will remove the notification preference and will not be notified of any change for the activity.

 

 

When you hover over a cell, four icons appear.

  1. By selecting the Checkmark icon, you will be immediately notified of any change for the activity (ASAP).
  2. By selecting the Clock icon, you will be notified daily of any change for the activity.
  3. By selecting the Calendar icon, you will be notified weekly of any change for the activity.
  4. By selecting the X icon, you will remove the notification preference and will not be notified of any change for the activity.

Note: Each set notification preference will apply to all of your courses.
