Purpose

Using the transparent assignment template will include all students by incorporating 3 simple, but powerful, tweaks in assignment design. Through the lens of equity, Transparent Teaching and Learning methods (TILT) has proven to support learning gains for all students, especially systemically non-dominant populations. It is a strong step towards creating clear and equitable assignment instructions so all students can focus on learning in your courses.

Criteria for Success

Leave with a clear idea of one small tweak that you can make to the assignment you workshopped today with your “Disciplinary Stranger” that you can go home and make tonight.
